My CD player in my seat leon has stopped working. I removed it today, checked all connections, removed and reseated all the connections but still no luck.

I put the face plate on and nothing happens although behind the faceplate there is a red light flashing which indicates to me that there is power of some sort.

I have noticed a blue 15 fuse, although being new years day I am unable to to replace it today, could changing this fuse fix my problem or am I looking at a new CD player?

Is it an aftermarket headunit? Because I blew 3 different fuses replacing my standard one, none of them being the radio fuse, but each caused the radio to stop working!

i have this problem now and again. Does it come up with an error although the radio and tape player still work>?
What I do is take the magaine containing the cds out, just blow the dust off, take each cd out and pop them back in.
Usually sorts the problem out. It will go through checking each cd, after that, its all good

Yes it is a Panasonic CD/Mp3 Player. It is a fuse in the rear of the unit by the power plug. Should I check the fuses in the main compartment also even though I get the red flashing light?

No, this sounds like a different problem to me. When I put the face plate on I dont get any error message or any sign of life in the face plate itself.

Check the fuse in the back of the radio and the internal fuse compartment at the end of the dash (drivers side), the end just pops off and theres fuses in there, mine blew things like engine control unit, petrol control unit, nothing at all related to the radio. I just borrowed fuses from things like heated mirrors and rear wiper until i got replacements!

Ok Ill see if I can get hold of a continuity tester and have a check through them tommorow.

Thanks.

Hi LEE69, I have just tried what you suggested and unfortunately it didn't work with a new fuse (I have these fuses but not the smaller type that fit the CD Player).

When I removed the Radio fuse the red blinking light also went off as I suspected which also indicates the current fuse is good.

This only leaves the smaller fuse in the CD Player or the unit itself to be at fault.

If you have your light on the stereo flashing without the key in then you still have your permanent feed so its the ignition that has popped. This will be fused. Check the main fusebox along with the stereo one, could also be a break in the wire but highly doubt it

as said above looks like the permenent feed is fine its just the ignition isnt working if you have a multimeter see what voltage is coming down the ignition feed when the ignition is off and then on

Hi

Just to update it was in fact the CD Player that has just stopped working. I tried the fuse in the back of the player yesterday and still had no luck but I managed to get hold of another CD player, I tried that and it worked.
