Hi, I've had to replace the engine in my cupra and I've put a cdl engine from a golf r in it but the car seems to have an intermittent missfire and when coming to a stop the revs rise to about 2.5k before slowly dropping down to a normal idle, is there anything that needs changing over to the new engine sensors ect?
Any help will be much appreciated because I'm losing the will to live after spending 3k getting the car fixed and it's still not right :censored:

Check your PCV valve, coilpacks, sparkplugs

May be worth scanning for faults with VCDS or VAS... mine was ( still is ) holding revs at around 2k / 1.5km when letting off the throttle.. ie pulling up at a junction / lights... They hold for around 5-10 seconds then drop back to the correct rpm. Annoying.

I scanned it and it brought up the following fault:

001089 - EVAP Emission Control Sys
P0441 - 002 - Incorrect Flow - Intermittent

I checked the pcv valve and it seemed in good order... research suggests that it may be down to the charcoal canister.

The faults were not throwing the EML on.

I've solved my issues. I will need to post pics though.. There is a pipe which leads into the charcoal canister that felt loose where it connects in. I turned and pushed it.. Along with shaking the canister for effect lol.

Nothing needs disconnecting.

is it the new type which is on? If it is and it is fairly new, and the spare doesn't help then consider that charcoal canister.. I scoured the mk5 Golf forum ad a few individuals changed that.
