Hey, been looking at different companies for a while to decide who should remap my fr tfsi. Most companies are offering around 240-45 as the after figures for their remaps, and some even go as far as 250, but 265 sounds like a really big increase for just a stage 1 remap. anyon used celtic tuning before? ill be gettin the upgraded vag diverter valve, without the rubber diaphram, so hopefully that'll help reliability, and all i want is a stage 1, but 265 still sounds a bit much

If its Celtic tuning in Newquay, Cornwall, then i had my old MK1 Leon 150 diesel remapped by them. Did a good job as far as i could tell, no problems and very helpful. A lot cheaper then a REVO map as well.
Thinking of getting my cupra done now as they now do a switching device.
I had no complaints. so i would recommend them.;)

where are you located? bristol have a good celtic dealer.. most of the VAGOWNERS lot who have remaps had theirs done there and all report good gains and service! daves LCR is seeing near on 270bhp from the remap

nice one, thanks. yeah they have places all over the uk, im in northern ireland and they have one about 20 miles so thats pretty handy
what about the bluefin superchips remaps then? anyone used these? no where near the same power increase, they claim 41 extra bhp, but like the idea of switching back to standard before taking it to the dealers

just contacted them for my 2.0 Tdi 170, looking at £375 but i need to travel 150mi to Glasgow and back, so £425 gives me the remap and also a self tuning device (much like the bluefin).

This is what they say:

Thank you for your enquiry with Celtic Tuning.

As one of the UK's leading turbo diesel tuning companies we can provide for all your electronic and mechanical tuning requirements. The benefit of choosing Celtic Tuning over the majority of UK tuners is that we actually write and develop all of our own software in house; this enables us to provide a genuine custom tuning service for all applications and uses.

The 2.0 TDi engines we can take from 167bhp up to 207bhp and from 258lbft torque up to 338lbft torque giving a very impressive performance gain and all within safe design tolerance of the engine and drive train components.
Reviews of some of our remaps are located here if you should wish to browse:

http://www.celtictuning.co.uk/testimonials.html

All of our software has been developed using a MAHA LPS 3000 rolling road.
This ensures performance accuracy, reliability and also that your vehicle is

MOT compliant for emissions testing. You can expect to see a 2-5mpg fuel economy improvement once remapped but it is dependant on your driving style,

drive accordingly and you will see the gains.

The cost of the remap is £375 all inclusive at our location in Clydebank.
This comes with a 14 day money back guarantee which gives you plenty of time

to ensure it is exactly what you are after.

Alternatively, we have a new self tuning device out for your specific vehicle giving you the ability to switch between original and various modified map settings as well as having DTC code reader for fault diagnostics. For full details of this unit please have a look at the following link: http://www.celtictuning.co.uk/eMotion.html. The cost of this

unit with the modified map is £425 all inclusive with free next day delivery.

If you wish to go ahead with the remap please forward us your contact details (address, Post Code and Phone number) and we will be in touch to arrange a booking very soon. Alternatively if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask as our technical team will be able to answer any questions you have.

Only things thats making me think twice about a remap are;
cost - £425 buys allot of fuel and is a years insurance;
warranty - spoke with the garage and they say that most people are OK having them but they still cant guarantee it wont invalidate the warranty;
PCP finance contact - as the finance company effectively own the car i think you officially need permission to get these things done, something they wont give as it affects the warranty of the car.

Whilst im generally happy to do it, for the gains i worry that they wont offset the trouble caused by future hassle.

Still very tempted tho!....

If you don't own the car (e.g. it's financed with the loan being secured against the car), I would avoid making any modifications that might affect standard warranty/insurance. There have been some horror stories about the finance companies taking an extremely dim view on this if anything goes wrong and demanding their money/car/both back early. :(

Personally, my FR will be my first fast-ish car and I'm hoping I don't get the tuning/modding bug as it all looks rather addictive and expensive, from what I've been reading! :)

yeah their new eMotion switching device looks pretty good, if they have that for mine im pretty sure thats what ill go for, 265 is far more than any other company ive seen, most of which only 235-245
