Guys.

My key fob doesn't work when i lock my car. Initially though the battery might have been on its way out so i replaced it. (it hadn't actually died completely when i replaced it)

Anyway, the battery is replaced, but it still doesn't lock my car.

So

1. what can i check? Where is the sensor located, I've checked the fuse and its still good.

2. Whats the deal with locking and unlocking my car with the key itself? Does the alarm still activate when locking and if i unlock, do i need to get the car started within a time period from when i open the door?

Anyone else had this problem before?

lol i closed it before knowing whthre it was any good

but i did copy it...so for those who need it

Key coding
1 ignition on to red lights on dash
2 turn off immediately and pull key out
3 hold 1 of the buttons down (dont matter which)
4 PRESS the other 3 times ( with a SLIGHT pause) 1 . 2 . 3
5 watch led on key (should flash) and doors usually try lock/unlock
6 turn ignition key back on to red lights and wait 5 sec
7 key out again and test operation

I found this copied from acid. Going to try it in the morning

bloody hell, wish mine was as easy as that, i tried and tried and tried this last night, but no luck, typical for me!

i took it into seat a couples of weeks ago and he couldnt get into my convience system! :( but that was when my window was jammed!

maybe the transmitter in the key at £86 (hopefully) as this is cheaper than a new convience system at £205

Spot on mines never worked for over a year I thought I needed a new key thanks guys its sorted!!!
