central locking problems

Hi guys

new user so saying hey!

got a problem with my ibiza mark 3 central locking.

it was working fine for a couple of days after i got it, then it wouldnt unlock and then when it unlocked wouldnt re lock.

now it wont lock or unlock at all, got a replacement key barrel on its way from seat but i cant work out why my central locking isnt working at all now.

its not even working through the central locking button inside the car!

any ideas??????

Not sure how it is on a mk3, but mk2's have a central locking pump that operates the locks.....perhaps this has failed?

yeah in the mk2s there is a pump in the boot, that can fail, however all the locking is triggered by the drivers door unit i belive. when that fails the locking all around goes.

so what we reckon then is because my drivers door barrell is broken the whole system is down???

would make sense if that was the case!
