Changing mileage?

Basically have fitted a new set of dials in the mrs's tdi sport the other day, due to a problem with her temp gauge not working on hers and lights flashing etc when the temps fine.

I thought the mileage was stored on the ecu, but unfortunately not, now her new dials are showing 72k, when the cars only done 54k.

Bit of a dodgy thing as its basically "clocking" it, but then its not as the cars not done the miles on the clocks, dont want em any less than what they should be though, being as 55k is low anyway lol.

Is there anywhere that can reset the mileage to what it should be? or which I doubt very much can the digital display be swapped over, or is the mileage stored on a chip or something?

Where abouts in the country are you - cause if you are anywhere near Preston - there is a guy who does it and has all the official kit.

Beware of the internet "mileage correction" crowd - some know what they are doing others just want your cash nd you will never see them again, leaving you with a knackered mileometer.

Going off recommendations is always best – never meet them in a service station or at your place - always meet at theirs, so at least you have some accountability if anything goes wrong. (reputable people will always let you do this)
