Check Deadlocks message

I have a new Ibiza ST and I have noticed that when I turn the engine off I get a scrolling message in the panel display the says 'check deadlocks'. I have no idea what it is referring to as the locks seem to be working ok Can anyone help?

They are all like that , Sir!

Actually mine says "Check Safelock." The consensus seems to be that it is just warning you that since the deadlock/safelock will activate when you lock the car it will be impossible for anyone left in the car to get out.

my 2012 ibiza fr does the same, just a pointless safety feature i think.
I would imagine it refers to the steering deadlock.

Thanks for your replies. Everything seems ok so I won't worry about it.

I just noticed I need to change my profile picture. The Cupra is now gone and replaced by a 1.2 tsi ST FR I wonder if the facelifted 2013 Cupra will say 'check oil' instead of 'check deadlocks'?
