Chrome Teardrop Mirrors

Hi guys,

I've been trying to decide on what mirrors i want on my Cupra (2002) and someone has just suggested the chrome teardrop mirrors from the Cupra R.

How much would i be able to get a pair for, electric folding, not bothered if they are used?

They are just covers but you might be able to pick up a pair with them already on.
I'd scour ebay or the for sale forum. They are expensive from a dealers.

Okay, how much could i expect to pay for a set on ebay with the covers already on? I've seen i can get the covers for around £50, is that about right?

I think the covers are less, about £40. Not sure on price as people on ebay are daft. Someone else might be able to confirm the real price of the mirrors but I'll hazard a guess of around £200+ new without covers. My old Corsa Sri ones (look like M3 mirrors) were £150 a side from the dealers

Eek, i've just been offered a pair for £100, would that be a good deal then?

Not sure tbh, if you think it's good go for it as they don't come up that often. You could always ring a dealer in the meantime to see how much they are new. At least if your after the chrome covers you don't have to worry about the mirror colour match

Electric teardrop mirror base's are £170 a side,
Glass is £40 a side.

Mirror caps are:

£6 a side for primed only (£50 a side for colour coded)
£15 for a pair of the Matt silver FR ones
£52 for a pair of chrome ones.


If you can get a working set for £100 the i suggest you go for it and then buy the chrome caps from a dealer.
Would be the cheaper option imo

There was someone selling carbon covers on Ebay a while back but they were an extortionate price + they were being shipped from Italy

i cant believe the dealers have had me running around trying to get mine sorted. they want to repaint them, i might aswell buy the frickin cap pre-painted!!!!

Yea they are £15 for the pair. I bought a set last year from Autoworld SEAT in Sheffield and they charged me £15 inc VAT for them.
I was selling them on here a while ago when I bought the chrome ones. Not sure of the part number though.
