Hi there,

Well as in the title, i get a sort of clunking noise when i reverse off my drive in the mornings, also happens when im parking up and having to go forward and backwards. Could it be some sort of bush?

If so what is it likely to be and where is it best to get new ones, or shall i upgrade to some aftermarket ones?

Laso while im here, whats the best coolant for a Leon Cupra R, i forgot what its called.. G something i think.

Well essay over :)

I had knocking when turning into drive over small kurb. Now gone -turned out to be track rod end knackered. It wasn't picked up during four wheel aligment when i took it in to check as steering\handling no longer feeling spot on, before but by me giving the front brakes an overhaul the followng day. Guess it wouldn't be apparent during check when there was weight on the geometry and they don't actively check for play. Was only a small amount of play but was sufficient to make the noise - jack up and test for play, i could actually see the play in the top of the joint.....

my money is on brake pads.
do a search for this, - the brake pads can have play in them and clonk as you describe.

From memory i think you can bend or 'encourage' the retaining springs/pins to help with this on the brembos.

Next time it happens see if its linked at all the use of the brakes.

Ps coolant, as above, G12 available from dealers or GSF etc.

It's almost certainly Your front brake pads. I had this issue too, I would reverse off the drive, brake & hear a clunk, then drive up the road apply the brakes & would hear a clunk again. then all was OK. It is front to rear play in the pads (not a problem, no need to worry). I have since fitted Ferodo DS2500 pads & the issue has disappeared:D
