Clunky front wheel?

Just aquired a new problem. Went over 4 or 5 speed bumps at a steady speed, everything normal. Then next speed bump i go over i get a horriale clunky noise from front wheel. Doing it all time now, sounds exactly same as wen driving over a loose pothole cover. Got a mate to look at it and the front wheel shifts under braking wen rolling slowly forward. Any ideas? Just had eibach pro kit fitted last week.

Have you checked your ARB drop links?
I had this problem on my LCR (was ARB links as different set up). I was getting the noise when turning into junctions slowly and got horrible vibration/knocking noise.
This is a cheap easy fix if it is this

Thanks. I shall try get it over the pit at work and look. If i try wobble everything will it be obvious which one is goosed?

ts your inner drive shaft, grab it and wobble it, i had mine replaced for exactly the same issue last week (2 days before my car got written off )

If it is the drop link there will be a small amount of movement where there should be none

Just had a look now, nothing seems wobbly at all.

When I reversed into the parking bay this morning at work and put full right hand lock on I got a horrible metal grinding noise.

Shall ring SEAT today.

yep, drive shaft/ cv joint i think, passenger side,

CV joint wont make the wheel shift. It's more likely to be wishbone bushes I recon.

Booked into SEAT on Wednesday, told the manager the symtoms and he initialy said it sounds like a brake problem. But then told himself to shut up as that wouldnt make the wheel move under braking.

Getting my leaky door rubber replaced too.

Is it lowered alot. The ARB rubs on the driveshaft if its too low. I learnt that. Bangs and scrapes. Have also found that one of the coilovers was faulty, too much play where the shaft go's into the body of the shock. New one on its way. Good luck with the stealers.

Lowered 30-40mm on Eibach Pro Kit.

Doesnt seem too low, but suppose the dealer will tell me. Just hope its nothing to do with the new suspension. Nightmare!

Ah thats fifferent, you might need the ARB kit changed on the front. my eibach pro kits constantly rubbed from the passenger side.

i know it sounds silly, but is your wheel done up tightly and not loose, reason i say this when strugers1 got his car lowered, there was a knocking noise similar yo yours, then he found the problem in time before the wheel fell off lol, worth a check

Got a mobile tyre fitter coming this morning.

I will go out and have a right good look when the wheel is off. The ARB doesnt seem to be anywhere near the Eibach's, same goes for droplinks.

This surely wouldnt cause my passanger front wheel to move backwards under braking though...? Would it?
