Clunky gear shift from 2 to 1

Hi all!
I got a brand new VZ (310), been driving it for a month, done 1000km or 620miles so far, and I noticed that when gearbox is in D and I am in second gear, and I slowly stop the car, there is a rough down shift from gear 2 to 1, there is a pretty lound clunk sound, and a small rattle.. it also happens when gear box is in S, but only sometimes, and its hardly noticed..

Another thing is when I drive over a small plastic bumper that is usually in parking lots, there is a very noticeable rattle of something metal from the front of fhe car.. something sounds lose.. very lose..

Its a brand new car, I am breaking in the engine, so it was never driven hard..

What do you think? It doesnt sound normal, right?

I booked it for next week to check it up, but I'd like to hear if maybe someone has an idea what it might be...

I have a VZ3 and don't have any issues like that so suggest it's a call into the dealer. Check the obvious first - no loose items under the boot liner etc.

Well I took the car in today to check it up, couldnt replicate the noises of course but they did connected a computer and it looks like my mechatronics is faulty.. thats the reason for the clunky down shifts.. so now I am waiting to see if they replace the mechatronics unit, or just try to update software.. my concern is that the whole gearbox is dammaged.. we'll see..

The car is 1 month old, I started noticing the noises from first week of driving.. I drove the car very softly as I am still breaking in the engine.. this makes me very sad..

20 years ago I bought a brand new Golf GTI, also then I got a bad car, as soon as I left the dealer, I got errors telling me to go to workshop.. car spent its first 3 days om the lift...

These are my only two times I owned a vw related cars, and both times I recieved faulty cars...
