Clutch cable issues

Hi guys,

Posted earlier this week with a query about engine and box code to try and rectify a problem im having with my Ibiza. Still no luck, The problem is, iv had a clutch cable snap at the pedal end, read a lot of threads about pedal box problems etc. The pedal box is fine (looks like it could be new) the problem im having is iv bought and fitted a new cable. The cable appears to long slightly and someone has cut a second slot in the pedal to fit the same cable previously for the last owner (this is what I believe caused it to break as it was flexing to much). The motor factor company I bought the cable off are sure its the only one listed. Which leads me to think I may have a problem with the fork connecting to the box. Has anyone had anything similar or any suggestions what to look for otherwise I may have to take it to the local main dealer  as I dont know of any specialists in the South Wales area.

All help appreciated,
Phil.

just taken these for you. On mine 2L 16V which i think is the same as yours if i remember...
There is a big rubber seal surrounding a plastic (i think) housing which slots through the bulk head, then theres a white plastic tube style effort with a slit down the middle which hooks onto the clutch pedal via a small metal hook on the pedal arm.

Thats how it fits simple as... you can also see where my pedal box is bolted together :D

Thanks for the replies guys, thanks ibiza 95 those pics have helped, I think I will need to change the pedal as on closer inspection looks like original hook has snapped and new one cut into pedal. Also looks like I will need a manually adjusting cable as slightly to long.

Thanks again
