after taking the plunge and spening near on £900 on new wheels and tyres only this afternoon my clutch has decided it wants to start slipping now. Looks like the clutch and diff is going to have to be upgraded sooner than i thought:(...

i have enquires about getting a sachs clutch fitted but most of the companies are recommending i keep the original flywheel.

whats your feelings on this idea. if you were going to reolace you clutch/flywheel what would you fit

i want as little vibration / noise as possible

please help

18000 miles but has been mapped since 1000 and stage 2+ since 7000ish miles and it gets torture all the time so has stood up very well to be honest. I was hoping to get a lightened flywheel but is that something that cant happen? I mean if i put a light flywheel on does that mean i will in turn end up with more noise. or is it possible to have the best of both worlds

18000 Stop driving it like you just stole it! :D

Good choice on the colour that's what I would of picked for that model!

Funnily enough i just got a price on a sachs race organic friction disc and heat treated cover today. They wanted to sell me a single mass flywheel as it will be an improvement over the dual one thats the o/e fitment.

Well my clutch has been slipping, loss of revs when under strain so am thinking about a new clutch too. What was the price you were quoted? Want to know how much it will hurt lol

Im haveing mine replaced with VWRacing clutch and cover in Sept. Hope to keep my flywheel if its in good nick. About £960.

My oem one just needs to get me to germany and back. (Im at 17000 and have been stage 2+ since 10k, Im gona have to drive like my granny!)

Any particular reason your going for the VW Racing one over the Sachs Mike?

I was having the same problem till i removed the remap 6 mths ago,:cry:but now i want the map back on and a new clutch, would a group buy be possible on these?,i know amd have some good deals on........

well i have been told a single mass flywheel will make alot of noise when the car is idleing and i dont want this but i also want a clutch that will cope with Over 350 bhp (easily pleased i know). I am thinking of going for the sachs organic one also. if someone could organise a group buy i am in. £1000 is alot but cant drive with out it so i better get it done.

I would suggest that most people could actually keep their standard dual mass fly. I think from memory you can get a sachs race organic friction disc and heat treated cover for around the £480+vat, so anything say around £400+vat would be a good price for a group buy.

I was told the same, its best keeping oem dual mass flywheel if you dont want chatter/noise,if the original is no good(and i have heard some horror stories) then an oem one is i think about £260+vat,but if the origanal is knackered there is no point of buying a new one if it will start wearing at 11k,so the best option then would be to get the stronger singlemass flywheel and get used to/put up with any extra noise/vibration,then maybe add a set of vf mounts....best prices i have had/seen are amd votex and the place tfsimike is going to use...

The s3 boys have had clutch slipping issues on mapped cars and Audi have bought out a sachs uprated clutch under warranty.
Wonder if SEAT have followed suit?

I was told by dealers that seat only replace clutch under warranty if it fails completely,if its slipping getting them to pay out is tuff as they seem to play the wear and tear card ....As the clutch in the cupra is the same as in the 200bhp fr,its no wonder cupras are starting to get clutch slip, with an extra 45-60bhp and extra torque, even before we start tuning........
