Hi, sorry to be going over old ground, i've seen a few posts and solutions regarding hesitation on acceleration such as air leaks, suction jet pumps, throttle body cleaning and replacing the gasket which i will try, but i was wondering if anyone has any experience of my issue as i think it might be something completely different.

I've noticed that my AUQ cupra only hesitates when accelerating when i have put the clutch all the way down to change gear, there are sensors in the clutch and brake i believe? When i don't put my clutch to the floor to change gear and only press it enough to be able to change gear (which isn't alot) it seems like the hesitaion stops and it accelerates as it should. Is this a clutch sensor/switch issue then or is it my imagination?

The engine power is cut when you press the brake, not sure about the clutch.
Whilst trying to solve the common hesitation problem, I did log the brake and clutch pedal switches and they were not activating whilst it was hesitating. So that ruled them out.

You’re probably noticing a difference because you are getting back on the gas faster when only dipping the clutch a small amount

Honestly, try the TB clean first. I did it once and it looked clean and I reset it. Didn’t clear the problem.
Then after loads of other stuff being changed, I gave it another clean. I mean really, really clean with cotton buds and a whole heap load of carb cleaner, also have a person pressing the acc pedal to open the flap. Then clean it some more. It should be totally silver coloured, no black or brown at all.
Then of course reset it with VCDS.

TBH the thing that solved the annoying hesitation for me was the suction jet pump. But then after doing the TB clean again it improved further.

Cheers Sprogpole, your has been the thread i've been following so i'm going to try everything you've suggested, which is good cus all your suggestions won't cost much if anything, but when you said about getting on the gas faster, i'm not touching the accelerator in both cases until at least a full second after i've changed gear.

the hesitation isn't there (or its my mind playing tricks) unless the clutch pedal hits the floor.

Also my hesitation can be as low as 2k revs, hopefully its the same problem as yours, then the simple fixes should sort it.

***Hesitation problem solved***

Great news! was driving along the other day and i could hear the boost louder than i normally would, then after a while i heard a pop which was the boost pipe popping off leaving me with a turbo spinning up but the car not going anywhere.

Took it the garage the next day, the clip holding the boost pipe on was knackered causing a boost leak, once he put a new one on and tightened it all up, hesitation gone altogether and car running like a dream now, well chuffed!!!
