Code for Radio

Hi all
The battery went flat on me and the radio stopped working. I have been to a Seat dealer who has given me the radio code......does anyone know what buttons to push to activate the code. My Alhambra is old P696 XAD.

i guess your best bet is to go back to Seat and ask them pal!!!!!!

Because of the age of the car they can not help at this stage. I have tried pushing all the buttons and nothing seams to re set the radio. Thanks for your reply.

very annoying thing to have no radio!!!!!

Mine is an Elba radio and the procedure is to press the station preset buttons the relevant number of times. eg If code is 1234 press button one once, button two twice, button three three times etc. Note I've had to slightly guess at this as Seat helpfully gave me a radio manual in Spanish!!

Have you taken the radio out of it's fitting yet, sometimes if the radio has been removed in the past then whoever removed it may have written the code on the radio itself. I always do this when I remove a radio ( assuming I have the code in the first place ). Worth a try.

OK sorry mis read your entry, try this - this is for a standard fit 2007 RDS radio on a 1999 model (also fitted to a lot of 1990's Fords).
Turn radio on and the word "CODE" should appear on display.
Use station button numbers 1 to 4 to input the code number for your radio ( use button 1 to input first number by pressing it until required code number appears ) then do the same for the other three numbers using buttons 2,3 and 4.
Press the "SELECT" button once you have put in all four code numbers.

the radio should now work.

Should you put the incorrect code in you can only attempt this THREE times before the radio locks itself and you then have to wait 30 minutes before you can input numbers again.

If you try to put the wrong code in for 10 unsuccesful attempts the radio will lock out and can only be re set by dealer or radio specialist.
