Hey guys, I'm picking up some coilovers at the weekend that offer a drop of 30 to 90mm and I've seen some people say that I'd need adjustable droplinks to stop damage to suspension etc. Its a 1.4 leon and its sitting on 55mm springs all round at the minute and I've had no problems so far. Any help appreciated thanks.

I know from past experience my last Mk1 was lowered on coilovers and the arb was actually rubbing the driveshaft due to the angle it was at and wore through the paint putting a large gouge in my driveshaft

Yeah I'll be getting adjustable droplinks just to be sure now. Also I picked up the coilovers but there is a few bits missing like the spanner for adjusting and also I think I'm missing a part that goes under the adjuster that sits under the rear spring, its like a little silver circle plate that bolts up from underneath the spring to seat it. Has anybody got a diagram of what I should have or does anyone know? Thanks

Also I thought the rear shocks were meant to be silver not yellow please correct me if you know

You mean the the spring cup with the adjuster on it that bolts onto the rear swing arm

Is it just the silver plate your missing from this assembly if so you would be able to make one from a piece of plate metal it just acts as a washer for the lower side so the bolt can sit against it as the actual rear arm cup is a reasonably large diameter

Images are coming up corrupt or something so can't see them but yeah like I say best bet if you can't find them is get someone to fab you one easy enough to make just needs a piece of sheet metal thick enough it won't bend and then drilled into and rounded off big enough to cover the recess then some

If I remember rightly the top piece as a thread on the bottom for the bolt but without seeing a set that I've seen before split down I couldn't honestly tell you unfortunately

Ok thanks for your help we'll see if anyone else knows. The cups I have at the minute are just open each end theres nothing to bolt into so I'm not sure what I need

Actually after a bit of research they may actually turn out to be tuning art coilovers not actually jom coilovers but they look the same only for the yellow rear shocks. What way do those rear adjusters actually work? Do I even need the silver circle plate?

Realistically once the cars weight is on it that lower cup isn't moving anywhere but honestly I wouldn't like to say you don't need it cause personally I wouldn't run my car without that being physically bolted.just incase but can't see it moving in all honesty
