Im interested in buying some coilovers but dont have the money to buy the best ones so i was looking to see if any of you knew where the cheapest place to get coilovers for my FR TDI 170.
I think its a better idea for Eibach Springs, Eibach Sportline Springs It will lower it making it look slammed on the ground but not too low and the handling better for the FR - source (sere dealer).
Oh yea not sure if your doing the fitting as well but you need to consider the labour cost and the 4 wheel tracking afterwards, can get expensive..hope this helps
if you just want cheap coilovers, i wouldn't bother. You'll end up having ones that could potential be extremely rusty after a year, especially with the amount of salt thats thrown on the roads in winter. Plus the quality will be lower. I went for KW coilovers with inox, These are stainless steel and much better equipped at resisting corrosion. I do quite a lot of miles so i needed quality over anything else. But I would only recommend putting on lowering springs if you have not done a huge amount of miles in your car, i.e. your shocks should still be fairly fresh.
Have you had a read at this thread: Coilover Obsession Lots of really good information there. If you are not going to be tracking the car and its an everyday driver I would go for the uprated springs and/or with shocks route (I just got the Koni FSD and Eibach Pro springs fitted on mine)
