Hi
Silly question I know, I'm waiting a few months for a factory order, but the dealer will phone if they get another 184 in another colour.

I'm colour blind so just went with a colour I could see in the showroom as it looked nice, I'm not too good at visualising what I can't see.

He did offer me adventure Brown, but the idea sounds wrong.

What colours should I avoid.....

I think you did the right thing! Did the dealer know you were colour blind when he offered you the brown? It wouldn't be many people's cup of tea, no wonder there was stock lying around!

However, colour is a personal choice. I always go for white because where I park for work it's not uncommon to pick up battle scars and scratches, white seems the best at holding up to it. Plus I like white.

The azure blue is a very nice colour, I like the silver too. Black is beautiful but looks a mess if it's not looked after!

I have a good friend who is colour blind so I understand your problem, he once came home with a pink backpack to 'match his jacket' which happened to be white. Must be frustrating at times!

I am color blind too! :) But despite (or because of) that I have strong opinion on colors and I was 100% sure I wanted the emocion red :) I would also buy the lima green. Maybe I just need brighter colors to compensate for my color blindness? :D I wouldn't buy a white car but that's just a regional context since in Bulgaria it is white cars that are exchanged for brides by Roma people :D

I'm not trying to be funny, and I apologise if I cause offence, but how does somebody who's colour-blind navigate traffic lights? My guess is that you know red is on top, yellow is in the middle and green is at the bottom? I suppose it also depends on how colour-blind you are?

I'll be absolutely honest with you and I will admit that my specific color blindness is exactly red-green deficiency and when the traffic lights are far away and it is dark (hence I can't see the exact position of the light), I am not pretty sure what the actual light is :D Anyway, it's too technical but I have a protanomaly, which is weakened color vision of the red cells (as opposed to protanopy which is entirely switched off red cells), so I can still distinguish between colors and recognize them correctly, provided those are not some very similar shades, etc (e.g. distinguishing between very bluish violet and blue). I have been throughly tested by the transportation authorities and I was barely within the allowed degree of color blindness :)

I'm red/green colour blind, and it doesn't affect your ability to read traffic lights. I only have bother with the tests you get of numbers etc made up of lots of coloured dots all mixed up. Stops you getting into the RAF as with the masses of warning lights all close together on a jets display, errors could be made, but traffic lights and everyday situations are no bother.

Does it matter then if you're colour blind, just enjoy the car.....
