Contacts Photos?

I'm having trouble trying to get the photos to display on the infotainment system. I've got my phone (Nexus 5 Android 4.4.2 Kitkat) synced via bluetooth which seems to be fine. I can play music, see phone numbers, dial out etc.... but I cannot get the pictures to display. Has anyone be able to get this to work?

I only ever got this to work with my Windows Phone, It seems Android and iOS don't allow access to the photo on a contact.

How do you have the contacts saved? Sim, Phone, GoogleSync? anything special about the photo you use as well?

Works fine in my car with the Asus Padfone Infinity running Android 4.2.1 (I think).

I'm wondering if its the pictures size I am using. Currently have it set to 720x720 which might be too big for the car to handle?

Yes, contact pictures do show for me via Bluetooth.

I tried with one contact photo on my S3 at lunchtime today.
The contact updated and imported the photo but on the favourites screen the button does not show the picture.

Am going to look at the picture size later to see if making it smaller makes a difference.

The media/infotainment system is a complete bag of s@@te! Mines failed massively and needs replacing after freezing 3 times, randomly disconnects bluetooth as well as not picking up music or contacts even when it is connected.

Give me a standard stereo anytime over one of these, a portable tomtom satnav is far better and costs a fraction of the price of the seat bag of spanners

Sorry to hear your're having problems Marty, but I'm really happy with the system fitted. Hopefully your experience will improve once your duff unit has been replaced

Contacts are saved in Googlesync, photos are just assigned from my gallery no idea what it converts them to.

I have a work blackberry and we use google mail at work if anyone has assigned a picture on the google + account then that picture shows on th BB if they call me and also shows on the contacts in the car, it also appears on a call too. Again in car.

Got it to work with my old S2 this afternoon. Set the photo to the contact, saved on the phone as opposed to the sim card and away it went!

Thanks Villiers, the iPhone only saves photos to the phone and not SIM I believe so not sure what else to do to get the photos to show?

Ah, skorry to hear that mate. Im no iphone geek so I cant help. This thread is laced with android stuff, has anyone had success with an apple?

I remember my mk2 leon wouldnt sync anything with my S2, I read on the t'internet I had to factory reboot my phone. It worked flawlessly but its not recommended. Hope you get it sorted bud

No don't think they are synced with Facebook, just photos I've taken on the phone and then uploaded to my contacts on the iPhone, does this make a difference?
