Does anybody know what the cost of a forced dpf regen is or will the likes of seat do this for free due to the known issues of the leon pd170 dpf issues??
The leon has thrown up a dpf light and now goes into limp mode if driven hard to try clear it out, the gloe plug light flashes while in limp mode
Torque reads that its efficiency low in the dpf

SEAT may not be able to carry out forced regen if it's over a certain % full. I bet it won't be cheap though if they can! I'd just go for a DPF removal and remap before you even start pouring money into dealers hands

I can possibly arrange a dpf delete, but first i could perform a regen, or tell you if its too late for that.

Where abouts are you based?

Not near retford lol

Thanks for the help but im near belfast, have a good tuner more local who is going to do it

A forced regen is just time consuming. As mentioned above, if its above a certain % it is deemed unsafe but if not, all we do is drive it in like 3rd 4th gear at around 3k to clear it out, but as everybody above has said..just get rid, they're more hassle than what they are worth!

Removing the DPF, does it invalidate the Seat warranty?

It will invalidate the DPF warranty, but you won't have a DPF anyway. Maybe they could link it to the engine/ECU too, but they'd have to prove beyond doubt that your DPF removal caused whatever went wrong with the car.

So far my car is a bog standard FR170. I have got 1 year seat warranty remaining and 4 years dealer warranty after that.
Shall I remove the DPF and get it remapped or not?
What are my options?

got the dpf sorted, had it all ripped out, egr blanked and mapped, pulled 197 with just the standard map and dpf deleted but we bumped it upto 208bhp/315ftlbs, my tuner was suprised it was so strong on the standard map and was happy to go into high figures but i went more for reliability and settled close to 210, feels like a different car, far far smoother, no juddering low down

Cost

Hi Josh,

Just a quick one buddie, sounding like the Tuner could well have been a friend or something but was wondering if anyone could provide me with a ballpark figure for dpf remove and remap?

Thanks
Alex

hey he wasnt a friend hes just a well known reputable tuner and hes a site sponsor for a local forum - it was £300 all in and his mechanic fitted the egr blank plates for free while he was at it but i got a discount for being a forum member so i would guess the usual price would be £350-400
this was from obd autotune in ballymena northern ireland incase you think im in england
