Finally been informed by the grage that my car has been fixed.... only took them 6 weeks!

The fault was a cracked Rocker Cover Gasket; my question is....

Should I expect this part to fail on a car that is just over 3.5 years old and only covered 32k?

Thanks in advance.

Lean FR TFSI. Initally the engine was cutting out when idle... then after 'replacing some sensors' the engine was reving whilst idle.

R666CHE has the same high idle problem. She has a new PCV on order in hope that fixes it.

In answer to the original question, its not something I have heard of thus far, but then you dont know what work has been done on the car prior to you getting it.

i suppose in theroy this would be the same as if your pcv was leaking?

ive seen the pcv system fail and cause the system to run mega lean which causes the tfsi lumps to go ape sh1t for example cook the cat.
A cracked rocker cover gasket would more than likely cause a lumpy idle rather than a high one.
