My wife was driving the car to work this morning when a driver overtook on a bend and met oncoming traffic. As a result her car skidded under braking left the road and stopped in a ten foot ditch helped by a tree! Car is right off but did everything it should have done crumpling up at the front but keeping passenger cell intact. So just a few cuts and bumps from a 50 mph crash well done Seat. Car was new 21st September this year so only had a short time on the roads.

unlucky on the fact of the crash to start with but thankfully all ok in the end

at the end of the day a car can be replaced easily

So glad your wife is ok, as Fl@pper has said the car is replaceable

Very glad she's ok. Shook up I bet!

Also good to know the car's built well. RIP car. :(

Hope the person who overtook on a corner stopped and got done for Dangerous Driving.

O what a nightmare for you guys as everyone said main thing is least she is ok and I'm sure we all wish her well.

Thank you for the good wishes -

Next battle will be the insurance company - dread to think what they will offer for a two month old car that's done under 2k miles. Yes we passed on the gap insurance.

Without sounding like someone who loves a good crash, any pics of the car, just so we can get a feel of the strength in the chassis and see NCAP 5 star level protection. If not don't worry m8. Did the A**ehole who caused this stop or has he/she got clean away?

P.S. hope the missus is fine & u might reconcider GAP insurance now.

Sorry no photos - Police said it was good that the car doors opened perfectly when everything in front of the bulkhead was crumpled.

The chap in the silver sports car is well gone. From speaking to the witness apparently he pulled in very sharply to avoid the oncoming car, that must have been when the wife put on the breaks and the rest is history also her 17 years no claims.

Gutting, I'm a grown hetrosexual male and it would make me cry of something like that happened to the Boc. At least ur wife's okay, that be the main thing.

I hope its on his conscious for the rest of his days. Driving like that he wont have many left [:@]

Thats what gets me most. Had a similar issue where a driver did an emergency stop on a roundabout for seemingly no reason. Caused 3 cars directly behind her to hit eachother , one badly enough that the doors wouldnt open.
Within 30secs without checking anyone or getting out she drove off.[:@]

Depends on your insurance company, but with fully comp on mine they will replace with new car in first 12 months if repair is more than 50% of list price
