I dont know a lot about cars but when i change gears from 1st to 2nd theres always a crunching/grinding noise even although my clutch is fully down. Its fine when i go in to any other gear apart from 2nd, anyone know what could be the cause and how to fix it?

I have a seat ibiza mk5 1.4

Check your brake fluid - it also feeds the clutch.

Sounds like synchronizers to me. It went in my MK4 Golf GT TDI 150. Would crunch when I put it into 3rd. This was the problem. Had it fixed under warranty. Don't recall the price but I think its quite expensive to fix.

My car is still under warranty, so shall I just take it down to Arnold Clark and they should sort it for me? Someone told me it may have something to do with the clutch cable also, so im not sure.

sounds defiantly like the 1st 2nd syncro will be done under warranty take it to your local Seat Dealership. has nothing to do with clutch

Sounds like a faulty syncro for second gear. However it could be a clutch problem where the clutch isn't disengaging fully. You don't have a mat/carpet stuck up behind the pedal do you? My wife had this with a Corsa hire car and that caused crunching in lower gears as the clutch pedal wasn't going fully down.
