The Golf R will have better traction and a plusher interior but less equipment. Both are awesome cars.

This.....I drew the line at having to pay £700 for sat nav in the golf r estate (as well as other extras you get as standard on the cupra).

Would have loved the 4wd though!

Cant believe how many Golf R's are on the roads. I seen 2 in the same car park yesterday and a further 2 on the way home. I think I've seen a handful of Cupra's in the whole time they've been out.

I agree, they seem to be everywhere. I have seen one Cupra in the 5 months i have had mine.

Would love to know how many of the Golf R's are purchased and how many on lease deals. As someone mentioned above, i just couldn't justify spending what would have been £10k more on a car, just to have 4wd. Oh, and a VW badge.

I've only seen one Cupra also and there have been a definite increase in the R's on the road, more than likely because of the cheap lease deals (myself included). Those deals were out Oct/Nov and had a 6 month lead time hence the influx, having said all that the deals are so good your more or less just paying what you'd lose in depreciation if brought new (or there abouts) that's how I justify it [B)]

I'd expect the prices in 2 years to drop significantly with the return of them all..then maybe the best time to buy!

I'm still keen to see a Cupra in real life if anyone's about brum

Yes, don't see many other Cupra's about although spotted a Black R going the other direction otherwise I'm sure there would've been a quick blast :p

I've not seen any cupra's around my area and loads of R's. I have to admit I was thinking of getting an R on lease as the prices were good but they've gone up a bit now probably due to demand and a cupra 280 was £100 a month cheaper to lease for 24 months so ordered one, can't wait :D

Seen plenty of FRs but still a Cupra virgin (with the exception of seeing them on the forecourt). With the delays on build weeks I doubt we will see many more for a long time!

I'll guarantee almost every one you have seen will have been on lease.

Plus 9 or 12 months up front as well but still an excellent deal as you say.

How many miles allowance does he get?

That's the important question as the 1st payment, miles and if it's a business hire excluding vat affect the cost massively. A quick search will throw up some very good prices and the deals are good for low mile drivers less then 10k a year.

Example: 2 years personal lease so includes vat with 10k miles a year and 6 month 1st payment is £288 a month and that's with non metallic paint and no options, spec it up with metallic and it'll go up by about £20 a month and of course if you want any options then it'll go up more.

You can have one for £167.84 a month if you want to impress folk with how cheap you got one. No vat included and only 5k a year with 12 month 1st payment (don't mention that as it makes it not seem so good:whistle:)
