I own a 16-plate Cupra 290 with DSG. My car recently developed a weird problem, that I'm struggling to diagnose.
Took it to the dealer, but they gave me the car back saying that they cannot find the source and told me to monitor the problems for another few weeks and go back again.
If you google c290_noise1 and c290_noise2, google will take you to my recordings (on youtube) of how the car sounds during the first minute after the cold start:
Sound seems to disappear after 30-50 seconds, and will not come back until another proper cold start (after more than 4 hours of not being used). When started worm, all sounds good.
Also, noises seem to be worse/louder and last longer the colder the weather.
Engine also seems to make clicking noise for the first minute of two. Clicking too loud for injectors and probably too quiet for tappets.
Not sure though, as i think I'm developing a bit of a hypochondria when it comes to this car.
Please let me know if you have an idea of what this may be...
