Cupra Alloy Refurb

Just been quoted £170 for a refurb on a curbed diamond cut 19" Cupra alloy at my local BMW body shop. Am I being ripped?

Big time mate, where are you based? I had my megane rs 18 done in essex for £50 gloss black powder coat a wheel and removal/refit of tyres was in the cost

If I wanted my wheels power coated I could get this done for £50 . The Cupra wheels need a little more lovin' .

all but one of my cupra alloys have been kerbed im going to get them stripped and powder coated soon i assume you can do this with diamond cut alloys

Why would you want to powder coat a diamond cut alloy?

ive never like the cupra alloys and i like them even less now the wife has kerbed them all. im not paying silly money to repair them all so would rather powder coat them or just swap for some 18s

Fair enough. Powder coating diamond cut alloy's is a brave move.

Not sure where you are based but try www.lepsons.com they do diamond cutting, did my MR2. They don't offer a guarantee on diamond cut though.

I got some quotes from a few places near me before xmas and they all quoted around £120-130 per wheel

Id say £170 is indeed a tad steep

Not everyone thinks 18's are an improvement, I personally think the car is better on 19's as do a few others on here.

Probably comes down to personal preference at the end of the day

Best quote I got was 110 quid per wheel for a diamond cut alloy 19 inch but alloys would have to go away for 3 days to get machined

I'm with you on this one. Mine rides fine on 19's
