Cupra bonnet silencer

Whats up with the silencer(?) under the bonnet? Is it just for silencing the engine sounds?
Are you using it?

the under bonnet sound proofing panel on the cupra/boc is just clipped on and is not fitted to lesser model SC, I took mine off as part of the overall weight saving project.

Did you notice any difference in engine noise? Does it sound louder in cabin?

due to the exhaust/intake/forge spacer, the noise levels of my car can't be compared to a standard cupra. PS...race seats now in, must be the lightest one in the country?
