I dislike diamond cut alloys with a passion. Great bling appeal in the showroom when new if you like that sort of thing, but for me any upsides are quite heavily outweighed by the downsides.
Upsides
- great showroom appeal if you like alloys with a high ‘bling’ appeal
Downsides
- poor durability and not really suited to all year round use on a daily driver in the UK
- susceptible to white worm corrosion
- easily damaged when tyres are removed / fitted
- cost more to refurbish in a diamond cut finish than a painted / powder coated finish
- can usually only be refurbished a maximum of two times
@Mark300zx - I’d get them powder coated in either smoked chrome or gunmetal / anthracite as those colours go well with most colours of car. Powder coating will result in a much more durable finish that’ll stand up well to the British weather.
I found this discussion thread where a
Cupra has powder coated alloys in what looks like anthracite grey colour;

And this
Cupra’s alloys have been refinished in black chrome. The name is misleading as it looks like a slightly darker shade of chrome in the video clip;
