Good morning, at last it’s official!

The Cupra Formentor PHEV has finally been added to the “Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme”, on the official UK Government OZEV update today (23rd August) meaning it is now eligible to get the £350 grant for a home charger.

All other Cupra PHEV’s were also added.

Got mine on order. It was bugging me that this wasn't on the list, so definitely news that I welcome.

Am I correct in thinking there is no point in having one of these as I already have access to electricity in my garage? It won't charge it any quicker than a normal 3 pin plug will it?
I'm still reading up on these cars.

Faster with an EV charger

Approx 3.5 hours Vs 6 hours with a 3pin home socket.

I've switched to Octopus Energy so I can go on the EV scheme and get cheaper charging at night.

Currently scheduled to have the EV charger installed w/c 4th october, I have gone for the Hypervolt 2.0 with a 7.5M tethered cable.

This is my quote if it helps anyone:

Material / Service
Hypervolt - Home Charge 2.0 - 5m
Hypervolt - 7.5 Meter Tethered Cable
EV Distribution board inc Type A RCD and 40A MCB
Cable - EV-ULTRA 3 CORE 6mm Power + Data Cable upto 15m
Installation Sundries
Labour - hour 3.5
Materials : £792.16
Estimated Labour : £154.00

Sub Total £946.16
VAT 20% £189.24
TOTAL £1,135.40

The OLEV grant gives you 75% up to a maximum of £350, off the total cost of supply and installation of an eligible charge point.
If your installation meets the criteria for the OLEV grant, the total balance due from you is stated below.
We will then claim the grant from OLEV on your behalf, which then pays for the remaining cost of the installation.
This grant payment is paid directly to us.

Total Balance to Pay by the customer - £785.40

I hope this is useful to you however bear in mind everyones home is different and mine is a new build so should be straight forward.
