Sold my Mk2 Cupra yesterday, no longer own a SEAT and for the first time in a while got nothing on order and nothing to replace it with. :weedy:

I guess I can resign now as Admin. :cartman:

Sad to see it go, its been such a great car, and so quick. But due to ongoing knackered feet, joints flaring up (mainly clutch foot), I made the decision to move on because I simply wasn't driving it enough. :( Its a shame as its not been used as much as it should of been over the last 18 months.

But though I'm sad its gone, I'm happy because as you've probably guessed from the title, its gone to its new home and I'll continue to learn of its evolution with Bill at Badger5. :)

The day I got it in 2007.

and the day it left me, yesterday. :(

Not to mention the Cupra is on different rims, and has a different front grille. Subtle changes I'll agree, oh and about 120hp more than it started with in 2007 ;)

Was inspirational  Maybe a DSG for the next one ;)

Definately, its my biggest requirement for the next one. DSG is a must.

Sadly inherited rubbish joints from my mother and grandparents :p My mum has driven an auto since her 40's for the same reason really.

She's got a 1.2 TSI DSG Skoda Yeti at the moment which i've nabbed on occasion. Much easier on the bones, but despite being quite pokey for a 1.2, its no hot hatch and cornering at speed is an experience

No new Cupra on the imminent horizon, but quite like the look of the 1.8 Leon SC, considering a short term PCP and then trade up to a Cupra maybe in 12-18months But in the position where I'm just window shopping at the moment. In no huge rush to get anything immediately.

Firstly, I have to thank Mark for having such a cared for car the quality of which I have never seen on a similar age car. Huge respect for the detail, and clear love for the car, with tastefull, sensible mods, which only enhance the car.

Mileage is ludicrously low... Its a brand new car.. literally, with enhancements.

So very happy with it..

Also very happy to be keeping it in the SCN family, so watch for some Badger5 updates for plans and further developments it will see. I have bought this as a sensible road... no really.. seriously I have. (unlike badgerwagen one, my ibiza, which somehow from brand new ibiza cupra in sept 2001 has morphed into a 600bhp monstor...) This will be the daily road car and mods I will be devloping further on it will be for the road car customer base..

Mark is a true gent.. and I'm sure he was upset to see it go... I know I would be blubbing seeing my pride and joy drive away without me.. to new owner.

The drive home was perfect.. Captain sensible with MrsB following behing me in my S6... and whilst the Leon was clocking >32mpg the S6 was emptying its tank at twice that rate.. EAK!

Thankyou Mark.
You are a gent.
The cars fantastic.. and you should be commended on how well you have cared for it. I will try my best to keep up your good work.

All the very best my friend.

regards
Bill

Shame you had to get rid of her, but needs must I guess.

Hope you replace it with something just as nice mate, I'm sure you can't live without that power for too long ;)

I remember when we first drove the Cupra's up in peaks - and from that moment you were going to have the Black one!

My only regret was not moving quickly enough when you thought about selling! It is cracking.

Good for Bill, can't wait to read it's developments

It happened all quicker than I thought, I was gearing up to put it on the market soon, but just hadn't committed myself to it. Happened to notice Bill was looking for one last weekend and cast my rod. :D

Just under 13500miles it left mine last night. The last 18 months have been tough, because I've not been able to drive it. Should of got rid sooner really, but for a while I've been in denial a bit, hoping the problems with my feet would get better.

Sadly as most of my daily commute is town traffic based, the clutch was creasing me to the point where I'd abandoned it as a daily runner. Despite the fact that the clutch isn't that stiff really, considering its an uprated Helix kit.

It was daft to have it idle most of the year, while only getting it out over weekends for a bit of a blast out, and still piling cash into it, for services, tax, insurance etc.

My cars have always been my toys, non have been high milers, but this was exceptionally low due to the last 18 months of not a lot of use.
