Cupra increased MPG

I'm not one to constantly monitor my MPG as its a cupra and never bought it for economy.

However I travel the exact same route to work daily and was getting around 33-34 mpg on the return journey. I have recently lowered the car and put the Triple R front splitter on, driving home this evening I got 39.5 mpg, same driving style as I didn't check the mpg until I got home. Also I used to average 28-29 mpg on the MFD but this was at 31.5 mpg over 800 miles.

Has anyone monitored/noticed a similar thing? Could this really be increased aerodynamics, as I read in places it could help mpg but was very sceptical?

Any thoughts?

I can't imagine the splitter/lowering making a blind bit of difference to the economy / aero at anything below 100+ (if at all). Could be variation in the quality of the fuel you last put in (shouldn't be, but seems more likely than aero)?

Warmer weather has also given me increased MPG. I chose to trial Shell Nitro at the wrong time, I managed to get 60 MPG on motorway but I usually get 55-56 MPG. I started logging everything with my smartphone though so it will be good to compare similar time periods.
