Hi, so everytime I do Launch Control on my Cupra Leon 1.4 Hybrid VZ Copper Edition (245HP) I hear a really loud “bonk” on my car, also sometimes happens when I just full throttle at a green light while standing still.

Idk why you can’t hear it in the video, but it is a really loud bonk, maybe the car that shakes or something.

But you need to be careful doing to many launches can damage the DSG Box (well it did in my case anyway)

I think this is where people buy secondhand cars with damaged DSGs. People chip the engine. The DQ200 put on those 1.4 litre cars were not good in anycase and definitely not if the engine is chipped then they drive them on the paddles thinking they have a racing car.

My old Altea you'd have to switch the stability control off to get launch control. 2004 it was a fantasy thing that Altea owners talked about. On those you had a switch to turn traction control off. Traction control button was handy on snow and ice where you needed a bit of wheel spin to get a grip. Probably wasn't their for the boy racers to launch control.

Earlier than 2004 when I got the Altea that I had seen Germans toying with a van with DSG in a park. Subsequently worked out what they were doing prior to TikTok and social media . Launch control in a DSG in a big van... the obvious thing to do.

(DQ200 fine on a 1 litre 3 cylinder but once you shift to more powerfull engines it approaches it's limits.)
