Hi folks,
Well, I've just clocked up my first year of Cupra ownership and wanted to give some brief feedback on how the year has been.
Bought the car, a Nevada White 280ST (manual), this time last year as a Dealer ex-management car with 5,000 miles on the clock.
Decided on the Cupra having test drove a Golf R and Audi S3. Both felt very front end heavy and although quicker in a straight line, could'nt match the Cupra for drivability and overall exclusivity. Where I live, S3's and Golf R's are like buses!
Covered just over 7,000 miles in a year which is about my average. To date, I've had no issues whatsoever. Been all over Cornwall, North Wales and every twisty and bendy road I can think of in my area and theres plenty to choose from.
Great practicality, especially holidays. A wife, who likes to bring half the house, two kids, a dog and all our luggage, going to Wales recently on holiday. Car full to the brim but we managed no problem!
Even now, still can't stop looking at the car, because she looks beautiful. Every drive to and from work is a pleasure and always raises a smile, especially if I turn the taps on, which isn't that often these days.
Noticed a small amount of condensation in the offside rear light cluster after washing. I'll keep an eye on that as I've picked from this forum that its a known issue. Car has one year left on the warranty.
I had a moment of madness about six months ago and started looking at RS3's. This was short lived however, as my neighbour has his door smashed in for the keys. That kind of put me off.
The under the radar looks and subtle stance make the car go unnoticed to the untrained eye. I like that about the car.
At this moment in time, I've no intention of selling the car, which for me is bizarre, as I've been known to change them far too often, losing a fortune in the process.
I'm happy with everything about it. Apart from the lack of a pan roof which next time is a must. The car does seem very dark inside, but I've gotten used to that now.
Here's to another great year.
Best wishes
PS Could anyone recommend a good boot mat for the 280ST?
