Cupra R Potter
Hi all

Just after a bit of advice. Am looking at a stage 1 remap for my Leon Cupra R 225.

I have a friend who may be able to save me a few quid on the Awesome remap, but it will still probably be more than the CC remap with the discount they are offering.

Awesome state this on their site:

"Unlike other "chip tuning companies", we do not max out the boost pressure sensor in order to boost spike and give high initial torque readings. Although this maybe good for marketing purposes, it not only creates surge during acceleration at low RPM, but also reduces the life expectancy of the turbocharger considerably. "

I was going to get the CustomCode map as it gives more bhp but from reading this I am leaning towards the idea Awesome know a little more. They have been in the business 20 years etc etc.

What would all those who have had remaps done recommend?

Awesome gives 262bhp, and CustomCode offer around 272bhp (i think). Is it worth the extra 10 if it is apparently so detrimental to the life of the turbo etc

Advice appreciated :)

Custom code are a forum sponsor so if you did have any questions about their maps you could post in there section.
Quite a few on here have custom code maps and when i get mine done it will be one of their maps

I was all for a CC remap until I heard about the Awesome ones. They are based not far from me, sponsor local football teams, have an S3, Golf and Leon Cupra plastered in their decals

......thats beside the point - they seem a reputable company anyway. It has just confused me now on which one to go for

aaaaaaaaah I see

looks like CC are best value for money with the offer they have going
They will all deliver the goods for you. Apr are the most longest established remapper with a big company behind them ( i have it and its great). Revo are excellent and imho offer the best back up on here. Cutsom code is the newest on the market but do represent good value for money and seldom do you here any bad things about them. All the codes map to about the same bhp. You will be happy with any one of them.
Personally I'd choose whichever one is closest to you so you can get any future problems sorted with the minimum of inconvenience.

Nearly all stage 1 remaps are of generic settings, either supplied to the mapper or worked out by the mapper and then used over and over. For me its a toss-up between Custom Code cause they are round the corner and a fair price, or P-Torque because they appear to be building a good rep and are cheap at around £265.

I was at Awesome today and the APR stage 1 remap is generic and without a discount it does come in at the top end of the budget. But I was really pleased with Milltek they fitted for me today, so I would be more than happy to go back there for more work.
