Afternoon,

Sorry if its been discussed before. Just recently bought a 2010 Cupra R without much research and now thinking about few mods.

I believe this specific model share quite a few things with Audi S3 if I'm not mistaken for example engine, intercooler, turbo and brakes ? So the question is whats the max power can be achieved on this car and what sort of work will be required.

Anyone who knows or has done this please share you experience.

Thanks

But is it true that the R shares the same engine, turbo, intercooler and brakes with S3 and if it does why S3 got better figures than the R ?

Simple S3 has 4wd, compare the 2wd Scricco with the 4wd Golf R. I am also sure brand and product positioning comes into play as well :(

I did a lot of comparing before getting mine as I was moving from an S3 to the R.

Evo mag test drives showed the Cupra R was 0.1 second faster than the S3 in almost every rolling speed test (eg 30 to 50 etc). This will be the lack of weight from the 4wd system.

On the flip side it loses out on the 0 to 60mph because of the 4wd launch.

In the real world though launching 4wd in the dry is pretty hard, so you'd keep up. Unless I was very hard on my S3 it wouldn't lose a Golf GTI or Type R from the lights.

All in the dry of course, in the wet the R doesn't stand a chance, and the gap would be dramatic.

I wish the R came with 4wd. . .

Stage2+ Can see 360-380bhp

I think then your looking at bigger turbo

So what sort of work stage2+ involves ? and why does the car requires bigger turbo, I thought the car has same turbo as S3, i.e K04 ?

Any link for the stage2+ would be helpful.

Thanks
