It will be your thermostat mate. Quite a big job tbh. Dont hang around tho as it isnt good not letting your engine run at the correct temp
Depends how confident you are, but its buried deep in there. Google it and you will get an idea of what it entails
Wrong on both counts. It does have a thermostat and it will cost a LOT more than £15 in labour to have fitted.
Price the job up at an independent VW specialist who will at least know where to look rather than try to describe what you need to a sales assistant over the phone
My model is the 2.0 tsi and just rang TPS back up and the coolant regulator is the thermostat built into a unit i.e. Housing etc had a couple of prices £60-£80 but been quoted £15 from a garage as they doing other bits for me

All Mk2 Cupra models come with a TFSI engine regardless of badging.
Yes the stat is integral to housing but its still a thermostat?
The stat is a ballache to get to, if the garage want to do it for £15 then jump on it
What else are you having done out of curiosity? Unless it involves having the alternator off etc. then £15 is a steal, and a no-brainer. No doubt sundries like coolant will be added on top.... Might be worth asking them to flush the system and refill it with G13, not the cheap stuff they will have to hand[/
Fit a ramair induction, fit cam follower and and a stage 1 remap
had a system flush on most recent service plus got some G13 left over so coolant not really a issue

I think they will soon regret their offer of £15 in that case, i thought they were going to be having the alternator off or something......
The ramair intake and cam follower you could do yourself, both are an easy DIY even with limited knowledge, tools & experience.
As for the remap... Do you know who the file supplier is? I would whole heartedly recommend sticking with files from a trusted VAG tuner... That's all I will say on the matter
I would listen to Dan FR, as everything he has mentioned is spot on.
The fact that they are quoting £15 to change the stat shows they know little or nothing about these engines.
I would find a Vag Specialist near you, not someone who maps all makes and models. R Tech, AKS Tuning, TSR, Shark Performance to name a few, or anyone that does Revo or APR remaps.
Tbh mate if you ask for advice and then ignore it your kind of on your own
