Hi,
although I have TCS and ESP off I observed that during acceleration on the straight road the traction control icon flashes in some cases. it happened also in LC. Any suggestions on that?
I shouldn't observe it when I turn ASR and ESP off. Have any Cupra owners had the same?

Well in real it isn't switched off really.
It just comes in much later but will save your butt when it is getting too rough.

When it is fully off the light should stay on to tell you that, till you switch off and restart. There is a part off setting when you select sport in the ESP settings in the car menu, to be fully off you select ASR off. See handbook pages 184 and 79 for info.

maybe that picture will explain you better: screen shot when ESP and TCS were completely turned off, but during acceleration the icon marked with the arrow started flashing and that time some of the "supporting" systems (TCS or any other) blocked my acceleration

I see you are in Poland, maybe you get diff settings from us brits.

Ive experienced The same thing a few times. It doesnt behave like a moron all the time, but sometimes it gets grumpy. Can it possible be due to engine / oil temp? Last time it was really that forehed in The wheel feeling.

As said before:
It is not possible to switch TCS and ASR completely off!!!
This was mentioned in several road and track tests and it is the same for Golf7R and Audi S3/RS3.
It will stay active but it comes only into action at the very last moment.

deja vu

i was going to comment but then i realised i'd already replied to the same question in another thread a couple of days ago :D

IT IS possible to turn everything off even on a FR 1.8tsi. You need to use VCDS though. I did it on my FR and even took the car to the track and its a completely different beast with everything off, if you even think of touching the brake pedal while cornering, the car starts to oversteer hahaha its really fun to drive like this.

Here are the pics to prove it:

OEM settings for a 1.8tsi (sorry, its in spanish). ESC Sport just turns off TCS, keeps ESC and XDS on

After coding with VCDS, new option appears:

If you select "ESC Off", you get a warning message:

and if you decide to proceed, you get this message on the cluster screen and on the bottom right hand side corner, you get permanently the ESC Off legend:

Before this, I disabled the TCS by just selecting ESC Sport and I've never had it turn on again. I could just spin my wheels over and over without the TCS icon flashing on my dash.

Oh and by the way, this is my friends car after Revo stg 1 Remap (91 oct file) under hard acceleration (DSG). As you can see (and hear) there's A LOT of wheelspin with no flashing icons whatsoever. This, as I mentioned before is just by selecting ESC Sport on another 1.8 FR DSG.

Does anyone else suffer from The wheels hopping under acceleration.. Doesnt like The hard BANG before i can lift off The throttle.

Thats what it looks like in my cupra when i press and hold the traction button, suggesting everything is off.

this also looks like my gti, but i know for a fact its not off completely. I had thought you could turn it off completely by going into race mode on the R, assumed the same for the cupra but could be wrong.

Regardless, i dont need to have it off completely, i enjoy having a failsafe :D
