No its not, is it a private sale or from a garage. Do u know the history of the car. When i bought mine i ran it on unleaded n it started ticking n tapping. Then i found out it had been remapped 2 run on super plus. The car advances the timing n it starts tapping. After a few weeks on super it returned bk 2 normal.

I bought it used from a dealer (With warranty). The car since ive had it has allways ran Super Unleaded.

It currently has 99 Momentum in it.

Only slightly quieter once warmed up.

If everyone's Cupra sound similar then that's good.

i would drop the oil out if it was me and put fresh oil in and a new filter they may of stuck the wrong grade oil in it you know what some car sales can be like anything to save money :( and see if that sorts it as that's a relatively cheap thing to try

Well the car came from a seat dealership so would like to think it has the correct grade.

What I'm saying should I call the dealers and ask them to have a look?

If its still under warranty get it to them ASAP as if its something major driving it will only cause more damage you will have to post up and let us all know there diagnosis.

Before you do take it in make sure its not the charcoal canister ticking as some are known to

Well stopped in at Seat Droitwich today and they were very helpful. Listened to the sound clip on my phone and came out and listened to it.

Mechanic said it sounded normal compared to other TSI engines hes worked on. he even hunted round the showroom for a TSI to show me a comparison.
