cupra with 2ltr tfsi bwj engine gone BANG Help

Hi iv got a 07 cupra with only 70k on it full service history its running 365bhp with mods to support that and the engine is scrap something metal has got into cylinder 1 and took a small chuck out of the side of piston left deep marks on the blocks bore and damaged the head the bore is unrepairable so need new engine but I want to find out what's gone wrong so I can make sure I don't damage new engine the spark plugs was fine and iv check the hpfp cam follower and that's fine so where else can I look all help is much appreciated also can I replace it with a bhz engine

Have you checked the oil pick up pipe wasnt blocked?

Both of them no I have not checked it still runs just on 3 cylinders still do a OK speed as I had to drive it back turbo does not sound bad though

Double check you're spark plugs, I've heard of the end getting really hot and dropping of and killing engines. Have you pulled the code from the ecu? That might point you in some kind of direction to look at.

Mine went bang after 3 weeks of buying it. Never got to the bottom of my failure, unfortunately! Check my thread out as I totally rebuilt my engine.

scary stuff as mines running stage 1 with 181,000 on and still drives perfect! .. sorry to hear your misfortune mate.. im guessing you was un able to find the culprit piece of debris ? .. have you got a ebay intercooler on ? maybe a poor quality weld inside broke off or something like that.
