Hi all,

Had a small argument with a multi storey car park ramp today and have cracked the splitter on the bottom of my front bumper.

Have only had the car a few weeks and forgot how low at the front it is!

Can anybody give me a rough idea of price to supply and fit a new one? Assume the stealers is the first place to go but can you recommend anywhere else? Could I even fit it myself?

Fingers crossed it's not too expensive!

Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure what youre running but im guessing its an LCR splitter. Is it the actual splitter or the bit thats designed to bottom out first? The bit that takes the scrapes is quite a cheap replacement from the dealer

Yeah its a LCR. The section that is cracked is the lowest part right at the front and I think it does detach given part of it was hanging off after I smashed it into the floor!

Thanks all for your prompt response, that's put my mind at ease!

They get that much hammer that they're just about considered a consumable. Cheap enough to buy a genuine part and easy enough to fit. I went in a multi-story the day I picked my Leon up. OK going up, going down was a bit different. Trouble is I was on the 6th level, had about 30 cars behind me by the time I got out.

Lower splitter replacement

If your going to do it, make sure you either put it up on ramps, or drive onto a step or something just to give you more access, as the two centre clips are a bugger if your just lying on the floor.
Also, a spot of grease on the tabs helps them to slip in nicely.
Ive gotta replace mine again, as i gave a rabbit a bit of a headache last night @ 90.

 Reminisant of the top gear trip in a multi story with the zonda and ford GT?
