Well I've read about it a fair few times on here, heard about it of various people in the past. And now its my turn

The clutch pedal decides to hit the floor right at the time when I'm already late for work! [:@]

Now i've had a look at the white clip has come off, doesnt look like it has snapped so I am presuming its the metal part of the pedal box that has given up?

Question is, how am I supposed to get it fixed? I cant drive the car to a garage, I dont own any welding gear (never welded any thing anyway) and I dont know any mobile mechanics / welders.

Am I best getting a garage to fix this or try to get a welder and do it myself?

ifyou dont know how to use a welder.. id strip the clutch pedel out at the house.. take it to a mechanic and get it weleded.. get back home refit and bobs your uncle and you have a clutch again :)

sorry to hear btw.. im waiting on my day soon :'(

That is what I thought, do you have any idea if its easy to remove. Knowing my luck it will be a bar steward job to do and probably take me hours lol

Reading some of the posts on here, it seems alot of people weld it in place and avoid removing it.

Damn cars!!

Mine broken on my cupra mk3 and i had a mobile mechanic re-weld it when it was still on the car but now the pedal sits lower then it did before!!
Plus when going into reverse it sometimes crunchs the gear!

So im Buy a New clutch pedal from SEAT and gona get it welded stronger then try refitting that an see how i go from there.

ive got a spare pedal that im going to get welded up so if you wanna buy this one off me il get it welded up tomorrow mate? make me an offer

mine went last week, I just had it replaced today with a new pedal from SEAT, A mate did it for me but it looked like a bitch of a job, there only £28 new, Also mine feels abit different to drive now, the pedal sits lower and the biteing point is higher than before !!

did you have your new pedal welded?

No i didn't get it welded, Just got it fitted, the last pedal is 5 years old and covered 48k so although they break, it should have a fair bit of life in it.

i got my new pedal welded before they put it in the seat dealer who are very good friends of mine said they are a **** design and even a new pedal can break after 10k so they did mine then fitted it

Cheers for the offer, I'm going to try and get someone to fix it for me in place first. But if I have no luck then i'll let you know.
