DEAL or NO DEAL?

Hi just want to run this past you lot.;)

I got offered a deal on a set of 17" fr alloys with tyres and the front & back fr bumpers for £800 brand new but I'm not sure if there is any difference between the rear bumper on a fr and an ordinary leon,
IS there a difference that i can't see?
Do you think this is a good deal?

Rear bumper on an FR has is black where the number plate is rather than colour coded like other models.

I wouldn't pay that - the 18" alloys are much nicer for a start.. But the FR bumpers are nice..

This is obv someone who has bought an FR and stuck the bodykit on it and their own wheels, and are trying to get some money out of the things they have taken off.. Chancer lol

You got it in one!

I'm tempted cause it's spanking new and cheaper than if you were to buy it straight from a dealer yourself but am just saying that cause my leon is black so i'd only want the front bumper really and it's luna grey so it could be for the bigger model i'm thinking about.

I'd only get the wheels if i decide to part with my model and they where a good price of course. (I've got steel wheels and i'm planning on selling for a 2.0 tdi luna grey i think maybe black again)

So realisticly what would be a fair price for the fr front bumper.

If it were me, id buy aftermarket alloys which I really wanted.. Dont go for the 17s just because they are avail, they look pants..

Also - offer a low price for the front bumper and you should get it - it will be sitting gathering dust I suspect, and the seller will be glad to get whatever money he can out of it.. I really like the FR front bumper, I think it looks really sharp. Go for it!

they call it offsetting, remove a perfectly good bit of the car, add what you want and offset the price you pay by selling the old part.personaly i wouldn't do it as when you come to sell it the new kit may not be to everyones taste.never throw away parts as you may regret it one day.

Well I never asked but i'm wondering what the guys doing with the skirts and the roof spoiler, If I was him i'd be getting the whole kit, those skirts look wicked on the aero kit

Have you got a link to the fr kit or pics & prices, I've been looking and trying to find info on that. I didn't realise there was a full kit.

I got offered a similar deal from a dealer up north, if the wife says its ok im going to get them for her car. Seems a fair price to me. Cant see how someone can be a chancer by trying to claw back some of the £2.5k extra for the aero kit
I do it all the time with mods.

ah gotcha, I'm keen on the bumpers, but if i can get him down enough i'll take the wheels too cause i'm selling my leon and it's got crappy steel wheels with covers on it so i think it deserves some kind of alloys even if i am selling lol

If it is the same one, your loss :p :smoke:

I can't be at a loss, I'll not lose any sleep over it that's for sure

update* the guy has been on this forum, no idea if he's a member but if he is he should advertise them on here cause i think he's going to sell them on ebay, so there you go i'm advertising them for him if he does go that route because he wouldn't accept my offer.
He's obviously quite happy with all the hassle of getting rid of it at almost new prices which is just daft and i'd hate to have the worry of sending it anywhere by post without it getting damaged.
