So it's a year on since I bought the boc. Had it on the rolling road yesterday and it ran 209.6bhp and 200.6lb/ft (print out below). The guy that owns the tuning company with the RR says the A/F ratio shows its clearly been tuned.

The car was bought 4 months old with 1000 miles on the clock and was an ex managers car from a Seat main dealer.

Only reason I bought the car was under the assurance from the salesman that it was completely standard.

I know I'm hardly going to see any kind of compensation, in fact, I'm probably just going to get an ear full of denials.

At this stage I really just want to know who mapped it so I will at least know it was a reputable company.

Where's the print out?

Not just over excited dyno plot?

If it's a good map the a/f ratio should be fine.... odd statement to make

Just off the phone to dealers, they're going to do some digging after the bank holiday. Apparently it's strict company policy not to sell tuned cars and it was probably done behind their back.

Another interesting point. I've never had a service light come up on the car, I have carried out a service myself as I thought the interval seemed a bit long. So now thinking its had the service reminder reset (not by me) or somehow due to the map it's no longer coming up?

Also: the rollers are the most accurate in Scotland, all the standard cars there made standard power pretty much bang on so I have faith in the reasonable accuracy (not including the +5bhp rule of thumb for the semi auto box)

Here's the A/F graph

Interesting....

Compare to my graph (Revo std vs Revo mapped) and the 3000rpm mark, yours makes the same as mine did mapped

main.php

The map won't stop the service light (it's controlled in the instruments, not ECU) - but it's easy to reset if you RTFM

Odd that the dealer didn't flash the car to latest software when they sold the car (that's the easy solution to get it to stock)

I would've thought they would flash it before as well, although there may not have been an updated flash by that point.

Going to book it in for a major service either way to make up for it. Apparently getting one of the temporary trial maps flashes the car back to standard after the trial period so may just do that.

The figures are near identical to another lad that has APR stage 1 on his boc so fingers crossed its either APR or revo lol

If it's APR, try switching it on the stalk... If it's revo just chat someone up with a switch - though neither normally produce AF plots like yours

If you want it standard - tell the dealer to flash it at service

Not even sure if I want it standard now, it's about to receive forged rods and pistons so the slight oil problems it does have should subside.

Not really clued up on the ins and outs of A/F ratios but I have a 100 cell sports cat on it, not sure if that could be the reason for the odd A/F graph?

I think the odd A/f ratio is down to the equipment. I'm sure you heard I was told yesterday mine was running 16/1 and would probably melt a piston running it in the dyno. Yet my AFR gauge has me running 11-12/1 at all times on boost

In the Netherlands you can order an ABT Remap with your car. Don't you have a remap with warranty option in the UK? Maybe it has something like this? Since the car was from a Seat Manager.

What insurance companys crash assessor looks at an ecu? Cant tell by looking at it and they cant say you knew it was mapped. Its more visual mods.

You could just enjoy the fact that you have saved a couple of hundred pounds on a remap?

he has a good reason to be peeved though.
he bought what he thought was a standard car with barely any miles on it if he wanted a mapped car at such early mileage he im sure would have gone and got a remap straight away not only that its taken any enjoyment away from getting the car mapped and getting some easy extra power.
thats of course if it is mapped.
