How much should i be looking at for a de-cat pipe to be fitted to my 16v gti?

well would like to take it somewhere and have them supply and fit it, was thinking of ringing custom pipes and seeing if they do it

im sure they do. what about getting a garage to knock one up? all you need is 60cm of 2" exhaust pipe, cat flange, one lambda boss and a bit of welding and its done. exactly how i had mine - sorta.

wel thats what i was thinkin if i get custom pipes to put a bit of pipe in they may not be as expensive as first thought.

they dont really do much. mike had one that i half made, went on dyno and had only gained like 0.1hp but dont know what torque he had after.

i bought a ready made golf one and made it fit, best £60 ive spent

i didnt weld that one but had to go over it as they had only gone half way around the pipe! this one is a bit better

and yes i know its not straight but i ran out of exhaust.

nobody seems to want to send me quotes for my exhaust today. Nobody wants a shed load of money then. Seems the recession hasn't hit car shops lol

i got mine custom done with flanges fitted for £80.

Sounded awesome, best mod i did on mine by miles.
