they're strong engines, I have one. They should out last the car. 70000 is nothing. Mine is on 95000 and still feels like new. Just make sure the cambelt was changed at about 60000.
I'm not sure, it'll obviously be expensive at a main dealer but i would imagine about £300.
That price is about right too. I paid £5350 for mine two years ago and it's a 2002 (51 plate).
As already stated diesels seem to go forever, my last car peugeot 205 diesel had 247k on the clock when I got rid, the wifes 306 has 177k and still going strong. Just make sure the cambelts get changed at the right intervals.
the VAG TDI isnt considered run in until 80k, so buying it at 70k your going to be getting the best from it for many years. Heed the advice about cambelts and oil changes and it will go on for ages.
