Dejavu - Windscreen crack

Just went out to Halfords this lunch ( 3 for two on Meguires ) come back out to find an 8" crack in the windscreen. Drivers side, about 5" up, just like the crack from the last Leon. Same place and everything...

Best check the Seat Approved Used Car warrenty to see if I still have cover for it so I don't have to pay £60

mine too. just noticed it an hour ago.. pure crack no chips as you describe but mine starts about 2" up from the drivers side bottom screen corner?????

Yup same thing. It's a stress crack probably like mine.

How on earth did that appear? did you hit or tap anything on it?

i think its the original 2001 screen. i had a looky under the rubber and nothings forcing it.

can autoglass do a rain sensitive screen or is it a dealer job?

It's a stress crack, if you search you'll find loads of cases of it happening.

No idea, I had it on my last Leon, B has had the same thing on her Leon TDI, and now I've had this one go. I was told it's due to the windscreens not being bonded properly from the factory and it's a case of the right conditions etc for it to happen at some point.

Update, reading the terms of the used car warrenty glass isn't covered

And to make things worse all I have is a cover note at the minute so I don't think I can get it changed that way either
