Dented Steering Wheel Emblem

Bonjour

First time poster and recent Seat Leon purchaser (I picked it up this afternoon!). I had a little trawl through the archives looking for any hints/tips how to repair/replace a dented emblem on the steering wheel. I found one post (which I can't post the link for!) but unfortunately no one has replied to it.

I don't suppose any of you fine chaps have had the central part of the steering wheel out before and could offer me any advice?

I have the same issue with mine which I just bought. Believe you have to replace the entire airbag unit and they are not cheap at all.

same issue, did anyone tried with some plastic/chrome polish ?
and one more thing, can the emblem (circle) be removed ?

Could try heating it up with something like a hair dryer it may pop back into shape (just a thought).

Cannot be removed I have been told and therefore requires a whole new airbag unit. I have just learnt to live with mine this way.

Who told you? Because if it is the dealer...
I'm investigating using some plastic chrome polish/restorer.

Dealer told me. How will polish/restorer remove the deent out of the emblem?

Why dont you try some hot glue and a cocktail stick? Its basically the same tenchnique but on a bigger scale that they use to get a dent out of a panel anyway. Put some hot glue in the dent and stick a cocktail stick into it ( or something similar), wait until it drys and very genty pull towards you, It should hopefully pop out. Then peel off the glue

Dealer..ok, it can be changed then
Mine is not dented, it is scratched and not deep.

There are o lot of things that can be changed or adapted
(even if it was not design to do so)
