The wiper panel gives bother apparently. And somehow water gets into the bonnet underlay and it sags badly.

Hi folk's,

After a break of over 8 years I'm now on the verge of buying another Leon.

Previously bought a new Cupra back in 2003, now want a Cupra R, probably 05 reg.:D

My question is, did Seat ever fix the dreaded door seal leak problem on later cars?

Should I still check the carpets even on a MY05 LCR?

Thanks for any info. Can't wait to have some fun.;)

Cheers,
Xizor

Mines an '05 and has just started to leave me a little trickle in passenger footwell

Quick update:

I did buy the '05 LCR and it seems fine for leaks. I've run water over all the windows with a hose and there's no sign of any drips inside. I don't know if the previous owner has re-sealed the doors or not, but seems to be OK for now. Just lucky I guess.

Thanks for the replies :)

When the one under the scuttle goes the first you know about is after the sound deadening is soaked fully, it seeps through the carpet, to form a pond.

While we're on the subject of soggy carpets...

Is there any alarm-related wiring and/or electrical connectors underneath the carpets that could be affected by damp - ie, corrosion?

Yeah mine got corroded, made my interior lights come on faintly only noticed when it was dark.Connector is behind the drivers kick panel and feeds the drivers door

Hmm, now't wrong my lights but the alarm goes off for no reason. VAG-COM shows no faults, the central locking is OK and the rear wiper isn't leaking.

Have a 2005 LCR, Love it to death, noticed yesterday I'm getting some water into the footwell.
Not much... but its only the start.

I've got a 2001 Cupra (just picked it up the other day) and It's absolutely bone dry inside currently. Apparently the previous owner took it to a seat dealer and they "fixed" the problem before it started leaking but this thread has made me realise I ought to keep an eye on it! :/
