Difference between 205 and 195

Im looking at new wheels for my ibiza and I really want to get the uniroyal rainsports however they only come in 205 and the wheels in 7j.

I know they will fit but 195s would fit better. Anyone running 205s on a 7j wheel and notice anything abnormal

I believe Tim (cupra20) runs 205's with only a minor bit of scrubbing

My SuperTs are 7J with 205/40/17 Toyos on. I don't notice anything.

nope his are 7.5j with 225

I stand corrected! No wonder they scrubbed on full lock!

crack out the hack saw mate job done you dont even have to take much out at all,i even had to do it with my 17"s

Cheers for all the replys guys. It wasn't the scrubbing so much it was just generally how the car feels but from the replys looks good to go.

EDIT: Wheels I was looking at are the Rota R-specs in 16s 7j and ET37

As said I'm running 225's on 7.5j rims and I'm about as low as you are by the looks of it. I get scrubbing on the rear when 4 up on bumpy fen roads, the fronts did scrub on the drivers side arch liner but cut some of it away and It's happy days now.


205's on 7j should be fine mate
