For the current model SE, off the top of my head (I just bought a 2013 Alhambra), the Alhambra has electric folding mirrors, tinted rear windows, a bit more chrome (eg roof bars). The Sharan has 2nd row side airbags. The Alhambra got some features earlier, like 3 zone aircon.
I think this could be the start of an "oh no it isn't.........oh yes it is" ping pong"!
The cars are the same. The only possible difference leading to different widths, especially a difference as great as 10cm, would be different door mirrors which are the widest point.
I don't own either....I admire from afar, but I've not observed any differences in the mirror department.

Found the more complete list I made when comparing the two and looking at used models. Most of the data comes from the Parkers report
The Alhambra always had: (date in bracket is the date the Sharan SE got it)
Hydraulic Brake Assist (6/12)
Tinted rear windows
Voice control from 5/11
Folding mirrors
Cornering fogs from 12/10
Delay headlamps (5/13)
3-zone aircon (6/12)
Speed sensitive PAS
Rear sunblinds
Adjustable armrest (5/12)
Adjustable head restraints (6/12)
Driver alert from 5/12 (6/12)
Sharan has:
Through load system
2nd row side airbags
My parents have a maxed out 2013 SE LUX. I think some of things it has like programmable interior heating (great feature) aren't even available on the Sharan. It also cost them a good £6k less than an equivalent spec Sharan.
